I’ve been receiving Play! By Sephora boxes since October of 2016 now. I could not be any happier! I was on the waitlist for over a year (yes, really over a year). At one point in July I received an email saying I was off the waitlist, but when I went to subscribe it was to late as the email was from the day before. If you receive an email saying your off the waitlist be sure to subscribe ASAP otherwise they give your spot away.

This months goodies!
1.) Tarte Frxxxtion Stick
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample (0.22 z). Full size (1.0 oz) retails for $22.
What it is: An exfoliating gel cleanser in a unique twist-up stick format transforms from a solid gel to a cleansing lather that gently sloughs away impurities.
My thoughts: I thought this was a highlighter stick at first! Doesn’t it look like that?! Then I figured out it’s a cleanser. That’s innovative. I threw it in my bag because it’s perfect for on the go when traveling or after the gym.
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample. Full size (2 oz) retails for $48.
What it is: Whipped, lightweight formula cream restores and rejuvenates skin and delivers antioxidants with potent plant extracts.
My thoughts: So this is fro age prevention…interesting. I love how Sephora keeps sending me age prevention creams. This is the third one. I’m only 23. I think late 20’s is the time to start age prevention products. Anyways, I’m letting Dave try this out since he’s older than I. 🙂
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample (0.5 oz). Full size (8 x 0.3 oz treatments) retails for $32.
What it is: Restorative mask helps to care for damaged hair and leaves strands feeling smooth and touchably soft.
My thoughts: I’ve heard alot of good things about this hair brand as it’s created by Jen Atkin (celeb hair stylist). I have yet to try it, so I’m excited. My hair alone last year grew 6 1/2 inches my goal for this year is to not dye it and have it grow 7 1/2 inches.
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample. Full size (0.07 oz) retails for $17.
What it is: Sheer lip color with a glossy finish in the bestselling cult classic black honey.
My thoughts: The color is very similar to Revlon’s Black Cherry (retails for $7 and formula is super smooth!) It feels more like a chapstick with color than an actual lipstick. The color payoff is nice though. I wouldn’t buy this personally just because I have personally found a better dupe. 🙂
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample. Full size (1.05 oz) retails for $60.
What it is: Cushion format CC cream hydrates, protects skin, and delivers buildable weightless coverage in two blendable shades.
My thoughts: Oddly enough I have yet to try any cushion compacts. The coverage this gives is light to medium. I would not consider it full coverage. The formula is lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I like that it has full SPF coverage and good on Sephora for sending me the colors for pink undertones! I mixed 104 and 106 and it’s near my skin color
Size & Price: Received Deluxe Sample (0.05 oz). Full size (1.7 oz) retails for $86.
What it is: Unabashedly feminine and tender, this delicate scent features notes of pink pepper, orris, and patchouli.
My thoughts: I love that the perfume is an extra. It’s not included in your 5 samples, so technically you’re getting 6 samples! Last month I received an Elizabeth James fragrance which I hated, but I absolutely adore Tory Burch Love Relenstelly. It has a very floral smell but it’s not hugely over powering.
I didn’t review last month’s box on the blog, but last month’s box was lit! I received dry shampoo, makeup forever skin equalizer primer, a bobbi brown mascara, Sephora red liquid lipstick, and Urban Decay’s all nighter setting spray (my holy grail setting spray). That box was a 10 out of 10!
I like Play! by Sephora because I frequently shop at Sephora (VIB Rouge), and I like that I get to try new product samples from a store I frequent plus I get more points!
FTC: I pay for my own box!
Rating for January: ★8 out of 10 stars.★
