This month my May ipsy glam bag arrived on the 12. I wrote about a tracking issue in last months post. I was going to call ipsy, but before calling I decided to just delete the email I had on file with ipsy.com, then I reentered it. Viola. Problem solved. Three days ago I received an email letting me know my glam bag had shipped, and I received a tracking number.
This months bag really had some hit and misses.
I’ll start off with the product that I was least happy about.
Even Bae when he saw these was like those are some dinky size eyelashes. 😀 Bae knows me.
Anyone who knows me well knows I LOVE false eyelashes! (See photo below of my eyelash hoarding.)
The eyelashes I own are thick and long in length. I have big wide eyes, so I find that small false eyelashes just don’t do it for me. These eyelashes are great for someone who likes a very natural subtle look.
While I am upset at ipsy for sending me these tiny eyelashes that will do nothing for me these eyelashes will not go to waste. I’m going to give them to my mom because these are perfect for her. These are the exact size and fullness of how she likes her false lashes, so I’m giving them to her!
The shade is received is called Brown Sugar, which is supposed to be a brown matte.
It almost looks too cooperish/reddish to me, so at first I wasn’t so sure about this eye dust.
To be honest I’m not really a fan of loose eye pigments. I just feel like they’re messy and a hassle to work with.
The color is beautiful! I liked it once I swatched it. This eye shadow is great to apply in your eye crease area. I would recommend using an eye primer with this because when you wear it alone it creases like hell.
In my opinion I do not feel it’s “matte.” I don’t know why they call it matte when it’s a very shimmery eyeshadow, but okay.
I received the shade narcissist, which is a pretty watermelon pink. I really love the shade; however, some people may find that the shade doesn’t suit them. I saw most women on ipsy who were complaining about the shade were paler in skin, so I’m just going to go out on a limb and say this shade is probably more suited towards medium-darker toned skin types.
The consistency at first is very creamy, smooth, and non sticky. I HATE the applicator because when I first opened it the tint was very runny and drippy (that’s how I got it all over my bag 🙁 sigh). It takes about 30-60 seconds for it to set, so at first it will go on creamy and then it will slowly turn matte.
Once the tint sets its so gorgeous! It’s a watermelon pink tone. As far as staying power mine did last me most of the day. Towards the end of the day it started to wear lightly. It’s supposed to be waterproof which I tested out by washing off the swatch I did on my hand with water and soap. It did not come off! I had to use my Neutrogena makeup remover wipe to get the tint off my hand.
A CC cream for those who may not know is a Color Correcting cream. It’s designed to help cover uneven skin and redness.
I was soooo excited to receive this! I’ve read lots of good reviews about it. The other day at Ulta I almost thought about purchasing this because I’ve been searching for a good CC cream to try, but decided not to because it’s kind of pricey for a small amount.
I was so happy that I got to try this.
A little goes a long way! I was sent the shade medium, which was perfect for my skin tone. It is paraben free, and has SPF 50+.
I applied it using a beauty blender after I moisturized. It does say that this CC cream can be used in place of your moisturizer. I’m not so sure about that claim that’s why I moisturized anyways.
The consistency is thick, and I mean very thick. I usually like medium-thick coverage, but this is a very thick CC cream. Despite being thick it does not feel heavy on the face. I love that! I hate when I can feel like I’m wearing thick makeup.
This product is geared towards people who have: wrinkles (it has anti-aging serum), uneven skin, acne prone skin, age spots, and pregnancy mask, so if you have any of the above I would highly look into this product. It is LIFE. It does a wonderful job of covering your skin’s imperfections and makes it look flawless. I’m obsessed with this, and no I don’t even have bad skin. I just noticed that it makes my skin look radiant.
I’m tempted to buy this even though I really don’t need it. 🙂
In my April Mommy Favorites I wrote about a product called “Briogeo Don’t despair Repair deep conditioning hair mask,” so I was super stoked about receiving a sample size of Briogeo’s Roscaro Milk. I love Briogeo products!
I always am a bit hesitant with leave in conditioners because I’ve had some that leave my hair feeling greasy and weighed down. This product does not do that at all.
I’ve used two different ways just to test it out.
The first way: I got out of the shower and only towel dried my hair. I applied the leave in conditioner to the middle of my hair and down onto the ends. I let my hair air dry. My hair was super soft once it dried and it was less frizzy than usual. When I usually let my hair air dry it tends to get pretty frizzy, so this leave in conditioner helped a bit with the frizziness.
The second way: I did all the same things as above except I did not let my hair dry. I blow dried it instead. My hair looked even better! Shiny, soft, and no frizz in sight!
I’m more than likely going to purchase this for myself because I seriously love Brigeo products. They never fail me.
Overall rating of this months bag:
I really love ipsy for sending me samples of Briogeo and IT Cosmetics, but I loathe the eyelashes they sent me this month…I would give this months bag a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
