To read my original review I wrote back in May you can click here.

It’s now been a little over seven months since first purchasing my Luxy Hair extensions.

A little recap:

My hair was shoulder length. It is now past shoulder length. It’s what I would call a “lob”, so it makes it a little easier to blend the extensions with my hair. My luxies cost $159 for 160 grams of hair. I selected the color Mocha Brown. You can use my coupon code VIVIENNE for $$ off your order. 🙂

Since having my luxies:

I have not dyed or cut the hair extensions; however, I have straightened, curled, blow dried, and washed them.

There’s been minimal shedding. I can’t say that they haven’t shed at all because occasionally when I brush them out there’s a strand or two that falls out, but nothing crazy.

I’m actually quite surprised how full and thick the extension still look. The ends are in great condition too.

I do apologize if they look a little frizzy. They were curled and I straightened them back.

How I take care of them:

Taking good care of your extensions is the key to success for making them last longer.

I keep them in the original box I received. The only thing I don’t like about the box is when I straighten my luxies the box tends to sort of wave them. I’m planning on buying one of those little hangers where you can clip your hair extensions so they store standing up that why they retain their structure better.

When I bought my Sally’s Hair Extension’s I received a FREE shampoo and conditioner, so that’s what I use to wash my Luxies.

I try not to blow dry them every time after washing. It’s always better to just let them air dry or if I do blow dry them I use low heat.

I always use  heat protectant when curling or straightening them.

The clips are comfortable you don’t really feel them. If you’re not used to wearing hair extensions especially ones without a lot of grams of hair it might make your head hurt a little. The first few times I wore them my head hurt a little after taking them out. You just have to get used to them.

It took me awhile of playing with them and figuring out how to clip them in and blend them properly, so don’t be frustrated if you buy these and you can’t quite get them to look right. Leyla and Mimi (the founders) have a youtube channel here where they have several helpful videos you can watch and learn. 🙂

I am thinking about dying my hair a little lighter, so I might just have to bring these extensions in and get them dyed too. If I do I’ll let you guys know how that goes.

I aplogize for the long overdue update. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or leave a comment below.
